Pride and Prejudice also address this communal attitude of people to find a
husband for their daughters who should be twice as rich as themselves or even
more is better. So this is the story of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet who live in the
town of Longbourn with their five daughters. One day Mrs. Bennet asks his
husband to pay a visit to a rich young guy named Mr. Bingley, who was to settle
in one of the famous big mansions at Netherfield. The motive behind this visit
was clear to Mrs. Bennet that it would prove beneficial to one of her daughters
to get married to a rich man and become the owner of a big property. With this
scheme set up in Mr. and Mrs. Bennets' minds, Mr. Bennet wished this to go in
favor her dearest daughter Elizabeth while Mrs. Bennet wanted her eldest
daughter Jane to get married who, she thought, was far more beautiful than
Elizabeth and even surpassed all her daughters in beauty and charm.
With the arrival of Mr. Bingley and him meeting the daughters of Bennets',
he gets spellbound by the beauty and charm of Jane and he does fall in love
with her. But how can a story be complete without some intrusion from friends
and sisters and some other people?
Mr. Bingley starts living in Netherfield with his two sisters and a friend
named Mr. Darcy. The evening, Mr. Darcy enters the hall full of people in the
gathering at Netherfield, everyone is mesmerized by his tall and handsome
appearance and the charm of his personality. But sadly, this charisma only
lasts for a few minutes since it all evaporates when people get to know of Mr.
Darcy being proud and conceit. He is the kind of person who pays no attention
to people whom he is not acquainted with, so he barely talks to anyone. This
leaves people with a strongly negative view about Mr. Darcy and so does
Elizabeth develops a prejudiced belief about Mr. Darcy being proud and
dismissive.
With such opinions formed, the story progresses with several interactions
between Mr. Bingley and Jane, and also Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. But there are
going to be events that would change the feelings between Elizabeth and Mr.
Darcy but who do you think will fall for
the other first?
What do you think that forming an opinion about someone based on their first impression is really enough to judge their character and personality? You are going to see a lot of prejudice on part of Elizabeth whenever it comes to Mr. Darcy. But let me tell you one thing that till the middle of the book you are going to fall in love with Mr. Darcy for soo many reasons.

Another thing that I loved a lot about this book was the way that it
highlighted the importance of parents to keep a check on the interests and
activities of their children. They must teach their children to have some
limits and behave as such. Otherwise, the results of faulty and neglectful
parenting might result in an insensible and selfish person who only cares for
their own happiness. Wanna know who I'm
talking about here? She is going to be one of the daughters of Bennets' but
I won't tell your her name. Give the book
a read and I'm sure you'll love it.
